Dr. Wooday P. Krishna is a transformational leader with a fine blend of an educationist, technocrat and social worker.
A techno-legal expert of high eminence, Dr. Krishna is credited with a number or professional accolades including the Eminent Engineer Award from the Institution of Engineers (India) and prestigious fellowships of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK, the Indian Council of Arbitration; and, World Academy of Productivity Sciences, Canada.
Top positions held by Dr. Krishna include President of Karnataka Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, National President of the Indian Institution of Production Engineers and Member of State Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of Karnataka, in the rank of Minister of State. He has also held key positions in the national management of highly credible service organizations like the Indian Red Cross Society and the Tuberculosis Association of India, which have pan-India presence. A committed Red Crosser, he has played a pivotal role in the execution of various disaster relief operations from 2001 to 2012 and is a recipient of Red Cross Service Award for the work following the 2004 tsunami.
A prolific writer in Kannada and English, Dr. Krishna is an outstanding institution builder with exemplary contribution to education and civil society. He has been the Honorary General Secretary of the well-known Seshadripuram Group of Institutions, which caters to the educational needs of over 21,000 students from kindergarten to doctoral level through schools, colleges and other institutes numbering over 28 across four districts of Karnataka, since 2001. Each of his Seshadripuram Institutions has its own distinctive achievements.
Govt. of Karnataka has honoured him with State Award for empowerment of persons with disabilities; State Youth Award for youth and community services; and, State Rajyotsava Award for life time achievement in social service. In recognition of his dedicated services to the nation, Dr. Krishna has been conferred with President's Gold Medal, the highest national award given for exceptional Red Cross humanitarian work of high order, by the President of India.
